StockMIND begins the ‘Quest for the best budding Investor’ 2018
Mumbai: StockMIND, India’s biggest Virtual Stock Market competition for students aimed at educating the youth on investing in the stock markets, today announced the launch of its sixth season. For the past five years, the nationwide competition initiated by ICICIdirect Centre for Financial Learning, has successfully created stock investing awareness in over 6 Lakh students in an exciting and risk free manner. The competition which has been appreciated by colleges, faculties and students, has also been featured as the ‘Largest Competition on Stock Investments’ under the business section of 2016 edition of Limca Book of Records.
StockMIND Season 6 all-India college rounds will be held across India till February 2018. The National Round will be held in March 2018. StockMIND – The quest for the best budding investor was launched in 2012 as a national stock trading competition for college students and since then its popularity with colleges and students has grown multi-fold. It has now become a yearly National level Inter-college competition to help students hone their skill sets as well as promote a smart investing habit among youth. Each year, ICICIdirect Centre for Financial Learning reaches out to thousands of students through several leading colleges in India.
The competition is held on Virtual Stocks, a proprietary ICICIdirect Centre for Financial Learning platform wherein participants can invest virtual money on live stock market. During the competition, each participant receives Rs 15 lakh of virtual money on the platform which they can invest without the risk of losing any real money.
StockMIND is held in two stages – post graduate students participate in StockMIND and the graduate students participate in StockMIND Grads college round. Winners from the college round participate in the National Round to win the StockMIND title and a wide range of exciting prizes including a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh. To promote participation from women, there is a special prize for Women Winners in the National Round. Five seasons of StockMIND has seen participation from students across varied disciplines like engineering, management, commerce, science, etc.
StockMIND Season 5 saw participation from 579 colleges and over 2.4 lac students. The Season 5 winners were Vijay Shukla from the IIM, Sirmaur for post graduates and Arman Kumar from TKWs Institute of Banking and Finance for grads.
