String of events held across Jammu city on last day of My town My pride Prog

Jammu: A large number of people participated in the “My Town My Pride” programme across the Jammu city where they received the benefits of the different government sponsored schemes and on-the-spot redressal of their grievances.
Meanwhile, Mayor JMC, Chander Mohan Gupta along with Deputy Mayor JMC, Purnima Sharma and Financial Commissioner Health, Atal Dulloo laid foundation stone of deep drain (nallah) and beautification of Rehri Zone at Gandhi Nagar.
Mayor JMC also laid foundation stone for development of walk way and green spaces from Bakshi Nagar to Shakti Nagar in presence of Deputy Mayor JMC and Commissioner JMC.
Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor JMC said that it is a huge step of government to provide governance to the people at the doorsteps in urban areas. He said that public outreach mission was launched in towns to strengthen grassroots democracy and augment service delivery.
FC Atal Dulloo, while speaking on the occasion, said that the programme has been initiated to ensure on-the-spot grievance redress, instant delivery of services to the masses and on the ground speedy execution of people-centric projects. He asserted that this programme will also ensure the time-bound delivery of benefits of various welfare schemes like pensions, scholarships, PMAY, KCC, Health golden cards, Ladli Beti, etc.
Meanwhile, a sanitation drive was launched from Panjtirthi to Circular Road via Gujjar Nagar, opposite Asia Hotel Vikram Chownk and fromToph (near Best price) to Shakti Nagar (Near Pawan Ice-cream) in presence of respective Visiting Officers and with the assistance of JMC and their men and machinery.
At convention centre, the Visiting Officer interacted with officers of line department and also distributed certificates regarding domicile, income, caste etc to the beneficiaries.
The Visiting Officer inaugurated sports event followed by distribution of sports items among students at Boys Hr Sec School Boys, Bakshi Nagar
The Visiting officer at Ghoumanhasan inaugurated various sports events under My Town My Pride programme. He distributed sports kits, caps, masks, cash prize to the winning team and the runner up. He also conducted inspection of Anganwari center in Ghoumanhasan besides distributed labour cards, PM Svanidhi cards and wheel chair to the beneficiaries.
Three beneficiaries were presented house keys under PMAY(U) where as cheques were distributed among other four beneficiaries. Health cards and fish seeds were also distributed to the beneficiaries by the VO.
At MC Jourian, the Visiting Officer inspected the site where a 2 Km long bridge between Jourian and Palanwallan is to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 206 crore. He also interacted with officers and MC members regarding different development schemes and projects proposed for the benefit of the people at Jourian. The Visiting Officer also distributed medicines, ICDS forms, Tabs and bags to the beneficiaries under different schemes at MC Jourian.
