Visiting officers review service delivery, launch new works amid MTPM programme in Reasi district

Reasi: Visiting officers today reviewed service delivery, listened to people’s issues and launched several new works on the last day of the my town My Pride programme in Reasi and Katra townships.
Additional Secretary Disaster Management Relief Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, Suraj Parkash Rukwal chaired a meeting of the ULBs members and senior officers of the district administration at Reasi and took stock of the developmental needs in the town.
While interacting with the participants, Suraj Parkash, the members briefed about the overall functioning of the civic body. The MC members demanded establishment of a solid waste management plant, development of a parking place, sanctioning of special funds for the development of the underdeveloped wards, replacement of damaged water supply pipes, electric wires and telephone wires in various wards and augmentation of drinking water supply.
After giving a patient hearing, the visiting officer assured the projection of the demands and issues at the right forum with proper follow up for their redress in a time bound manner.
He also took detailed stock of the progress made under various centrally sponsored schemes being implemented in the district including SBM,PMAY-Urban,AMRUT,PM Swanidhi scheme etc.
Later, he inaugurated Blacktopping of road from Nai Basti to Dehati Bank and inspected works of different departments. He also inaugurated a Community Toilet in the town.
In Katra, Director Social Welfare, Smita Sethi, along with District Development Commissioner Reasi, Indu Kanwal Chibb and SDM Katra Ashok Choudhary chaired a meeting of MC members, civil society members, social activists and officers of different departments. She interacted with ULB members and resolved some issues on the spot.
Later, she along with District Development Commissioner Indu Chib, distributed Sports kits to the students provided by the Municipal Committee.
Meanwhile, the Director Social Welfare planted the trees in the office premises of the Sub Divisional Magistrate office Katra and later on inaugurated Drains and Lans at Ward No. 01 and 03 and Street lights installed in the Katra town.
The visiting officers also inspected various Government services being provided to the general public and inspected the developmental works being carried out in the urban areas.
