Students Pledge to make GDC Ramgarh Nasha Mukt’

SAMBA : National Service Scheme unit ‘Prabha’ and the Department of Physical Education and Sports of Government Degree College Ramgarh on Thursday organised a ‘Pledge and Awareness Lecture’ on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

The event was organized under the leadership and supervision of Principal of the College, Prof. (Dr.) Satinder Kaur.

The lecture on the theme was delivered by the Principal of the College. In her address, she said that the College has declared at the outset that it will conduct awareness lectures on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan twice every week. All the enrolled students, faculty members and non-teaching staff took the pledge to refrain from the consumption of drugs and narcotics. She added that one must attempt to identify those members of the community who are into drugs, alcohol and tobacco use in order to help them stay away from substance use. She stressed upon the fact that people must come closer to their religious faiths and beliefs, which shall help them create mental and ethical resistance against drugs. Students and Youth must participate in sports and physical activities along with the practice of meditation. She also told students to keep a vigil on use of such substances by friends in college, family and surrounding and help them to refrain from use and de-addiction. The Series of are being conducted to implement the points of NCORD.

On the occasion, the students, faculty members, and non-teaching staff took the pledge to refrain from the consumption and abuse of drugs and narcotics.

The faculty members present on the occasion were Dr. Aditi Khajuria, Prof. Seema Sharma, Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Dr. Shamsher Lal (P.O., NSS), Prof. Risha Kumari, Dr. Javed Ahmad Ganie, Dr. Ekta Rani, Dr. Varinder Kour, Dr. Anjali Bala, Dr. Ashish Kumar, Arpana Devi and Sanjeev Kumar.
