Subhash Deshmukh, sitting MLA and Former Textiles Minister of Maharashtra inaugurated 5th edition of the Uniform And Garments Manufacturers Fair 2022
Hyderabad: After the Covid-19 induced gap of 2 Years, the 5th Uniform And Garments Manufacturers Fair 2022 is back. Organised by Solapur Garments Manufacturers Association, the Fair was inaugurated by Shri Subhash Deshmukh, sitting MLA and Former Textiles Minister of Maharashtra on Wednesday 7th December 2022 at 6.30pm at Hitex Convention Centre, Hall No 2, Izzath Nagar, Hyderabad in Telangana.

Sivashankar, Director, Textiles, Maharashtra; Shri D Chandra Sekhar, Additional Development Commissioner, MSME; Shri Ashok Gokhe, Director, MSME; Shri Prakash Dakalia, Chairman, Mahaveer Textiles Group; Shri Nilesh Shah, President, Shri Solapur Readymade Kapad Utapadak Sangh (SSRKUS) and Fair saw participation from representatives from the High Commissions of five countries including Uganda, Kenya and Kyrgyzstan were among the dignitaries present as Guests of Honour on the occasion.
After four successful events in a row before the outbreak of Covid-19, the Fifth edition of the Uniform and Garments Manufacturers Fair 2022 is being expanded with more than 15 countries including 200 uniform manufacturers participating and 4000 fabric designs and 20,000-plus uniform designs being part of it. Touted as ‘India’s Ultimate Uniform and Garment Sourcing Platform’, the formal announcement of the Exhibition was done by MSME Ministry, Govt of India And Textile Ministry of Maharashtra. The show has been supported by Mahaveer Textiles Group, Solapur. The exhibition would be the only authentic platform for uniform and garment sourcing under one roof.
After the inauguration of the Fair, Fair will be a very authentic platform for the country. “All the uniform garment manufacturers, uniform fabric manufacturers, and uniform accessories manufacturers are participating in the show. I don’t think there is any other platform parallel to this one available in the country. I congratulate Solapur Garment Association for this grand show of exclusive platform for uniforms. This would be the world’s largest platform for uniform garment and other ancillary products,” he said.
Shri Rao said that he was happy to know that not only from the country, but stakeholders from across the globe were participating in the exhibition. “Various ministries of the central government and departments of Maharashtra government have put in their efforts to ensure the participation of the stakeholders from various other countries. Retailers with aspirations to emerge successful in the uniform sector are part of the exhibition. It will help them in their future planning and progress,” he said.
Shri Nilesh Shah, President, SSRKUS praised former Maharashtra Textiles minister Subhash Deshmukh who conceptualised the Exhibition five years ago. “He encouraged SGMA to organize this unique Exhibition which has emerged as the successful show over the last seven years. It has spread its wings outside Maharashtra and is now attracting stakeholders across the country. This will help Solapur to strengthen its position as the hub for products in uniform clothing.”
This Exhibition saw participation from various stakeholders including uniform and garment manufacturers, uniform fabric manufacturers- both in the knits and woven category- accessories such as school bags, belts, ties etc. This show is a must to visit for all those who want to source school uniforms, corporate uniforms, workwear uniforms, hospital uniforms, Industrial uniforms, hotel uniforms and accessories. This Exhibition will see participation from the leading mills including Mafatlal, S Kumar, Valji, Qmax, Sparsh, Shubhtex, Gangotri, Sangam, Wocky Tocky, Pranera among others.
Solapur Garments Manufacturers Association has been taking efforts for the last 5 years to promote India as a uniform sourcing hub of the world. Leading manufacturers, dealers and wholesalers will participate in the Fair. SGMA, after first two successful events in Solapur, organised third event in Bengaluru in 2019 and fourth in Mumbai in 2020. SGMA has vowed to organise the Fair every year in various parts of the country, thus taking the culture of exhibiting the base and strength of the Indian uniform industry at global level.

Shri P. Sivashankar, Director, Textiles, Maharashtra, said, “This year B2B arena has been arranged specially for the benefit of visitor buyers who want one-on-one interaction with exhibitors. Special sessions on fabrics by all reputed mills have also been organised to educate exhibitors about quality.”
