Dr. Bhandari further said that in addition to this the department has 17 Hemodialysis Machines in SSH Jammu and one HDU in GMC Jammu.

It is pertinent to mention that CRRT is a type of blood purification therapy used with patients who are experiencing Acute Kidney Injury (AKI). During this therapy, a patient’s blood passes through a special filter that removes fluid and uremic toxins, returning clean blood to the body.

The slow and continuous nature of the process, typically performed over a 24-hour period, allows patients with unstable blood pressure and heart rates, which are termed hemodynamically unstable, to better tolerate this process. In some cases, CRRT may be a life-sustaining and life-saving therapy.

Dr. Aman, Consultant Nephrology informed that soon two pediatric dialysis machines will be installed in the SMGS Hospital. These machines are specially designed for children who are on Hemodialysis.

It is pertinent that the Department of Nephrology at SSH Jammu is now doing all sophisticated procedures like USG DOPPLER GUIDED RENAL BIOPSY, JUGLAR CATHERISATION,PERMA CATH,CAPD/APD/ Acute PD HAEMODIAFILTRATION, PLASMAPHRESISCRRT(CVVHD/CVVHDF/CVVHF), SCUF & HEMOPURIFICATION.
