Speaking about the program, Prof. Aparna Surve, Dean, NMIMS, BSSA, said, “The M.Arch. program is designed to help students to look at architecture through a multidisciplinary and global lens. This is why our curriculum combines contemporary design and advanced technology studio models. We also provide global exposure through international tie ups with institutes such as Cornell University’s Department of Architecture in New York, and the Institute of Advanced Architecture of Catalonia in Barcelona. Our program effectively prepares students to understand the evolving ethos of architectural designs and practices in India and across the globe.”

The field of architecture is constantly evolving with newer career avenues opening up every few years. Today, apart from the traditional options of urban planning and interior designing, students studying architecture have the opportunity to branch out into specialised fields such as restoration architecture and sustainable or green architecture. Hence, the M. Arch. program at BSSA imbibes a multidisciplinary approach towards teaching and believes in providing a hands-on education to its students.

In order to impart a holistic understanding of architectural principles to students, the faculty for the M.Arch. program comprises practicing architects, urban planners, product designers, art historians, landscape architects, sociologists, and civil engineers. In addition to this, the campus also houses a number of creative spaces, such as studios, IT labs, and workshops, for students to ideate in and work on their projects.
