Talk on Soil Health Management
Aligarh : Prof Dipak Ranjan Biswas (Principal Scientist, Division of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi) delineated farming methods for restoring soil health, freeing up land for conservation and storing enough carbon in the ground for healthy crop production in the talk on ‘Soil Health Management for Crop Production’.
The talk was a part of a lecture series of the Center of Agricultural Education (CAE), Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) for the Rural Agricultural Work Experience (RAWE) Programme of B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture Students.
In the lecture, Prof Biswas discussed the current state of knowledge on soil health and its management for sustainable crop production and encouraged students to raise awareness on soil health among farmers.
Prof Iqbal Ahmad (Programme Coordinator) delivered the welcome address and Dr Majhrool Hak Ansari (Programme Incharge) extended the vote of thanks.
