The cartoon characters will speak Karelian!

An online meeting of a group of students and teachers of the Department of Baltic-Finnish Philology with the head and participants of the animation studio “House of Light” in the village of Essoila took place.
Students of the Essoil school under the guidance of the artist Oleg Nikolaevich Obnosov have been creating cartoons for several years. Now an idea has appeared to make an animated film in the Karelian language. The plot of the film, which was created by the studio participants, a sixth grade student Elina Ilyina and a fifth grade student Yaroslava Ermolaeva, is dedicated to the game of kyukkya. The head of the studio, O. N. Obnosov, turned to the Department of Baltic-Finnish Philology with a proposal to dub the cartoon in the Karelian language.

PetrSU students studying the Livvik dialect of the Karelian language gladly responded to this proposal and enthusiastically set to work. The cartoon will be dubbed by Serafima Funtikova (3rd year student of the Department of Baltic-Finnish Philology), Ulyana Gerasimova (4th year student of the Department of Theory and Methodology of Primary Education) and Danil Zaitsev (2nd year student of the Department of Theory and Methodology of Primary Education) ).

The work of students, which requires a creative approach, artistry and, of course, a good level of the Karelian language, is supervised by the teachers of the Department of Baltic-Finnish Philology T.V. Pashkova, A.A. Afanasyev and S.V. Korobeinikova.
