The first meeting of G-20 Employment Working Group concluded in Jodhpur this afternoon on a positive note.
All G20 countries showed interest and commitment to work towards the objective of the three priority areas of addressing Global Skills Gaps, Gig & platform economy, social protection and sustainable financing of social security. These priority areas have been set by the Indian Presidency.
Addressing a press briefing after the meeting , Secretary Labour and Employment Arti Ahuja said that group and bilateral discussions were held on the three key issues.
She said there should be a common vocabulary for all skills and occupations and also a global portal is needed on which all countries can upload their data on surplus and deficit skill.
Ms. Ahuja told that India is going to start a demand based survey for manpower soon. So far, supply based survey is done but now it will be a demand based survey which will be started soon.
