The Linnean Society of London elects AMU faculty as Fellow
Aligarh: Prof Nafees Khan, Chairman, Department of Botany, Aligarh Muslim University has been elected as the Fellow of ‘The Linnean Society of London’ for his trail-blazing research in Plant Physiology. The prestigious fellowship, held in high esteem across the word is given to scientists engaged in path breaking research in various fields of biology.
As ‘The Linnean Society of London’; Prof Nafees will use the post nominal title ‘FLS’, take part in leading discussions on advancements in life sciences, vote at Society meetings, attend ‘Fellows-only’ events and field trips and access of the Society’s library collections and dedicated online Fellows’ Area.
‘Understanding mechanisms of acclimation of plants to environmental changes using signaling molecules’ is the thrust of Prof Nafees. He has published a large number of research articles in journals of international repute, supervised 19 Ph.D thesis and edited 17 books.
Prof Nafees is a recipient of DST, CSIR, DBT, UGC and UP-CST funded research projects. He is also on the editorial board of Plant Physiology and Biochemistry (Elsevier) and Plants (MDPI) and Frontiers in Plant Sciences.
Prof Nafees has about 13000 citations of his research work, and h-index 54 (Google Scholar).
