THREE BHU STUDENTS TO VISIT JAPAN UNDER UNIQLO’S GLOBAL MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

Varanasi: Three BHU students have been selected for the Global Management Program of the UNIQLO – Fast Retailing, Japan. The company is a leading Japanese retail group and the world’s third largest apparel giant. Its Global Management Program (GMP) is an annual 5-day intensive program in which selected students get an opportunity of having business sessions with global market specialists in order to know more about world industry and business. The 5-day session will take place in Japan for which all expenses that include travel, lodging, boarding etc. would be taken care of by UNIQLO. The student selection is based on their academic background, statement of purpose, and personal interaction with UNIQLO- Fast Retailing interview board. The selected students are Mr Richik Mukherjee from Institute of Environment and Sustainable Development, and Mr Ritu Kumar and Ms Supriya Pandey from the Institute of Management.

 

During the 5 day program in Japan, the students will be asked to tackle some global issues and find solutions towards it through collaborating with other students from different backgrounds and discussing with business specialists. Prof. N. V. Chalapathi Rao, Coordinator, International Collaborations, BHU, informed that those students who perform exceedingly well in the GMP may also be considered for job opportunities.

 

Fast Retailing-UNIQLO, has an active MOU with BHU which enables students to participate in various such global and other internship programs.
