Three-day workshop on Fluid Mechanics concludes
ALIGARH : The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology, Aligarh Muslim University, in collaboration with National Society of Fluid Mechanics and Fluid Power (NSTMIP), organized the three-day 9th National Workshop on “Advanced Techniques in Fluid Mechanics Research”.
The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Sanjeev Sanghi, former Dean, Alumni Affairs and International Relations and Professor at the Department of Applied Mechanics, IIT Delhi.
Prof. M. Faizan facilitated the smooth organization of the workshop.
Prof. Sanghi recalled his association with AMU and lauded the efforts of the organizers.
Prof. M. Altamush Siddiqui, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, said that the topic of the workshop is very relevant and it will help equip the participants with the most relevant information in the Fluid Mechanics.
Earlier, welcoming the guests, Prof. Raisuddin Ansari, Chairperson, Department of Mechanical Engineering, emphasized the importance of Fluid Mechanics and research in real world applications.
The resource persons who conducted various sessions at the workshop included Prof. Suneet Singh, Chairman, Department of Energy Science and Engineering, IIT Bombay; Prof. Mahendra K. Verma, Department of Physics, IIT Kanpur; Prof. Supreet Singh Bahga, Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Delhi; Prof. Nagesh Patil, Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Bhilai; Prof. Ashoke De, Department of Aerospace Engineering, IIT Kanpur; Prof. M. Khalid, IIT Bombay and Mr. Wojciech, Managing Director, MICROVEC Pvt. Ltd. Singapore.
More than 60% participants belonged to the institutes from all over the country, including IIT Hyderabad, Mysore University, IIT Bombay, MANIT Allahabad, MANIT Bhopal, Integral University (Lucknow), IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi, DTU (Delhi) and Jamia Millia Islamia University (New Delhi).
The Organizing Secretary, Prof. Syed Fahad Anwer informed that each day of the workshop was divided into three segments, theoretical, numerical and experimental.
