Bhopal : The Minister for Energy Shri Priyavrat Singh said that the traditional and social media both together should give new dimensions to the journalism. Traditional and social media may not be different and can work as companion to each other. He said the importance of social media has grown rapidly in the modern era. Shri Priyavrat Singh was addressing the session on ‘Social Media versus Traditional Media’ during the 3-day Bhartiya Patrakarita Mahotsav organised by the State Press Club in Indore.

Shri Singh said that in the modern era, every sector is changing rapidly. This change is also visible in the journalism world. Information and news from social media are spreading rapidly. More works need to be done to make social media credible. The Bhajan Singer Shri Anoop Jalota said that journalism has come into every hand with the emergence of social media. We all need to think together how to curb wrong and misleading information in social media, he added.

Journalist Shri Ashok Wankhede said that despite the rapid rise of social media, the importance of both electronic and print media is still there. At the beginning of the programme, the President of the State Press Club Shri Praveen Khariwal briefed about the objective of the event. Journalists were present at the programme.
