Training programme held for nursing staff

ALIGARH: The nursing staff and dietitians from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University attended the “Type 1 Diabetes Education Certification Course” organized by the Society for Promotion of Education in Endocrinology and Diabetes, Delhi.

Dr. Hamid Ashraf, Director, Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Diabetes and Endocrinology, JNMC, who was the course trainer said that the course included ten modules regarding the pathophysiology of type 1 diabetes, dietary management, insulin injection techniques, insulin storage, management of acute complications, and sick day guidelines.

He also delivered an online lecture stating that India has the highest number of patients with type 1 diabetes. He said that the management of Type 1 diabetes requires a dedicated team effort by the endocrinologists/Diabetologists, nurses, and educators.

He said the training will be helpful in improving the overall management of Type 1 Diabetes in our country.

He also distributed certificates to the successful candidates.
