Two-Day Seminar on Automation, Robotics, AI and Applications held

 

Aligarh : The Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) played host to the commencement of a two-day seminar organized by the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) in collaboration with AMU’s Department of Computer Engineering. Held on March 2 to 3, the event drew dignitaries and senior figures from IETE nationwide to the ZHCET Assembly Hall, signifying an important moment for academic discourse and collaboration in the field of electronics and telecommunication engineering.

During the welcoming ceremony, AMU’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mohammad Gulrez, underscored the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across diverse sectors, including healthcare and recommendation systems. Guest speaker: Prof. A.P. Thakare, Chairman of the Technical Programmes Committee, delivered an insightful lecture on AI’s significance in education and computer science, while Brigadier V.K. Pandey, IETE’s North Zone Mentor, emphasised the necessity of standardisation within the organisation.

Further delving into recent advancements in AI, Prof. Muzaffar A. Siddiqi, Chairman of IETE Aligarh Centre, highlighted its pivotal role in contemporary technology. Prof. Izharuddin, Chairman of the Department of Computer Engineering, extended the welcome address, while Dr. Abdus Samad, the event’s organising chair, provided a comprehensive overview of objectives and anticipated outcomes.

Prof. M M Sufyan Beg, Principal ZHCET, delivered an engaging discourse, accentuating AMU’s history and academic excellence. Special mementos were presented to guests in recognition of their valuable contributions, and Mr. Tehzeeb Abbasi concluded the session with a vote of thanks.

The inaugural session marked a significant stride forward in fostering academic discourse and collaboration within the electronics and telecommunication engineering domain.
