Unani medicine expert from South Africa delivers lecture in AMU

Aligarh: The Department of Moalejat, Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College, Aligarh Muslim University organized a lecture on “An overview of training, practice and research in Unani Tibb in South Africa” at Aligarh Muslim University.

Delivering the lecture, Dr Mujeeb Hoosen, Coordinator of Unani Tibb, School of Natural Medicine, Faculty of Community and Health Sciences, University of Western Cape, South Africa highlighted the advances in Unani medicine made by the School of Natural Medicine, Faculty of Community and Health Sciences, University of Western Cape and discussed the possibilities and issues involving globalization of Unani system of medicine. He urged the concerned people to promote Unani Medicine in western world.

Professor MMH Siddiqui, Dean, Faculty of Unani Medicine said that this system has been preserved by the doyens of Unani Tibb over a long period of time and efforts are being made to preserve and promote Unani for better services to humanity.

Professor Abdul Mannan, in his concluding remarks, emphasized the efficacy and basics of Unani system of medicine. Professor Tanzeel Ahmad, Chairman of the department presented a memento to the guest speaker. Dr Mursaleen Naseer conducted the programme while Professor BD Khan proposed a vote of thanks.
