Union Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurates Mrignayani showroom in Nagpur
Bhopal : Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Shri Nitin Gadkari has said that Mrignayani is better preserving the traditional art of handicrafts and handloom products of Madhya Pradesh. He said this at the inauguration of the showroom of Madhya Pradesh Handicrafts Development Corporation at the Sanskritik Kendra premises of Nagpur. This is Mrignayani’s 39th showroom to be launched in large and metropolitan cities of the country.
Union Minister Shri Gadkari said that various components of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India are also working to promote the country’s handicrafts and handloom products. He described the activities of Madhya Pradesh Handicrafts Development Corporation at the state level as exemplary. He said that there is a need to train young craftsmen through the NIFT and designing institutes of the Government of India, so that their art could be further polished.
On the occasion, Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Handicrafts Development Corporation, Shri Rajiv Sharma said that Mrignayani has become the most prestigious handloom-handicrafts brand in India. The craft of the state has got a new identity through Mrignayani. Demand for Maheshwari, Chanderi Saris, brass crafts, stone crafts, wood crafts, terracotta crafts of Madhya Pradesh is growing rapidly in the entire country. He said the Madhya Pradesh government is committed to promoting the genuine products.
After the inauguration programme, the Union Minister Shri Gadkari was presented a memento on behalf of the Madhya Pradesh Handicrafts Development Corporation. On this occasion, craftsmen from different regions and officers were present.
