University of Bremen: ProMentes: Looking for managers and mentees

The career-oriented mentoring program of the University of Bremen ProMentes will start again in September. For ten months, experienced executives from business, culture and administration are available to advise students who are about to start their careers.
In a tandem relationship, the mentors support the graduates in planning their careers, open networks and give feedback and insights into their own professional biography. That benefits both sides. Because the managers learn more about the course content and the goals of the young generation. In the accompanying framework program, existing networks can be expanded and new ones developed.

Program is successful
“The response is still very great. The program has established itself in Bremen, ”says coordinator Wiltrud Hoffmann from the University of Bremen. “We are pleased that many executives from different areas take part and want to pass on their knowledge and experience.”

23 managers are currently supporting students and graduates. Since the start of the ProMentes program, 275 tandems (mentor-mentee partners) have already completed the program. Almost all mentees have started their careers, some have decided to pursue further studies or do a dissertation. The mentees in the current program come from the fields of industrial engineering, public health , complex decision-making, business psychology , media culture and transcultural studies.

Interested executives who want to get to know the committed young generation and pass on their experiences can apply immediately, as can students in the final phase and graduates who are on the threshold of professional life and want to use professional support.
