University of Johannesburg: The first major South African institution to introduce a custom-designed online MBA programme
The Johannesburg Business School is the first major South African public institution to introduce a custom-designed online MBA programme. The initial class of 2021 has just kicked off and is fully subscribed. There will be five other intakes during 2021, the next of which will be in March.
Recognising that not all candidates can attend full or part-time classes in person, Johannesburg Business School’s MBA has been purpose built as a fully supported, online learning programme. The programme content, faculty and qualification earned are identical to that of the class attendance MBA participants.
In keeping with the Johannesburg Business School’s purpose the two year programme has been crafted to help candidates grow their businesses, providing both the practical knowledge and support to develop and implement a successful business strategy. The programme is also unique in that it offers a flexible “pay per module” scheme that enables students to phase funding over the duration of their studies.
Acting Director of the Johannesburg Business School, Conrad Viedge, commented: “We are very proud to have been able to launch this MBA at a time when business-people are re-evaluating their learning alternatives. Our world class online MBA offers all the benefits of a full-time programme delivered in a form that suits the lifestyles of today’s entrepreneurs and future business leaders. I would like to acknowledge the foresight of the school’s founder, Professor Lyal White, in conceptualising this programme, and the hard work and creativity put in by our online project director, Marlize Kitching and Higher Education Partners South Africa (HEPSA) in bringing this wonderful project to fruition”.
