Ural Federal University: 11 University Students to Receive Support to Develop Startups
11 Ural Federal University students won the “Student Startup” contest and will each receive one million rubles to implement business projects. Thus, young entrepreneurs plan to create and commercialize plasmatrons, develop technologies for the production of crystal phosphors, zirconates, biodegradable polymers, develop software for parts control in production, automation of digitization of power facilities, etc. The novice businessmen were supported by the Ministry of Science and Education of Russia together with the Foundation to Promote Innovation within the framework of the federal project “Platform for University Technological Entrepreneurship”.
“Students from all regions of the country should have equal opportunities to realize their entrepreneurial potential. Students from more than 250 universities, both technical and humanitarian, participated in the first stage of the competition,” said Valery Falkov, Head of the Russian Ministry of Science and Education.
It should be noted that the first stage of the competition received 2.3 thousand applications. Of these, 650 young entrepreneurs won. Most of the startups are aimed at creating digital technologies and new devices for almost all sectors of the economy and industry.
The second round of applications will last until July 15. A total of one thousand winners will be named this year. More information about the contest is available on the portal of the Foundation to Promote Innovation.
