Ural Federal University: Answers to New Challenges of Time

On July 4-7, the annual Innoprom-2022 international industrial exhibition is held at the Ekaterinburg-EXPO international exhibition center. The Ural Federal University is organizing panel discussions and a round table as part of the exhibition’s business program, as well as the signing of a number of agreements with business partners that are significant for the university. In addition, the forum is also supported by volunteers – university students.

“At Innoprom we will pay special attention to the intellectual potential of universities for the development of Russian industry, development of electric transport in the Ural Region, projects of research and education centers as the basis for import substitution and development of scientific and technological cooperation in the Russian Federation, and advanced engineering schools. For the university, Innoprom is a time-tested platform where the future is shaped and the main development trends of the economy, technology, and country as a whole are formulated,” said Victor Koksharov, Rector of UrFU.

During the international exhibition-forum there will be a presentation of Ural Interregional Research and Scientific Center educational track for the subjects of the Ural Federal District within the thematic track “Educational Solutions for Industry”, round table “Development of Electric Transport and Electric Vehicle Charging Stations in the Ural” (joint event with the Ekaterinburg Administration), panel discussion “Intellectual Potential of Universities for Development of Russian Industry” (co-organizer – Department of Technological Entrepreneurship Development).

In addition, the University administration will take part in summing up the results of the “Minute of Techno-Fame” and will receive an award for UrFU’s victory in the citywide contest “Best Taxpayer 2021”.

“UrFU plays one of the key roles in scientific and technological, educational and socio-economic development of the region. The university pays special attention to joint projects with industrial partners – the largest enterprises of the state corporations Rostec, Rosatom, Almaz-Antey, Roscosmos, as well as such leading companies as Sinara Group, Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company, KAMAZ and others. The university has also created a full-cycle innovation ecosystem, which makes UrFU a driver of strategic projects for innovation and technological development in the region, based on close cooperation between universities, institutes of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, business and authorities. First of all, these are such projects as the World-Class Ural Interregional Research and Education Center Advanced Manufacturing Technologies and Materials, Smart Region, Nuclear Medicine, Engineering Center of Digital Machine Building Technologies, Lean Manufacturing Model Factory, and others,” noted Victor Koksharov.
