Ural Federal University Commissions New Dormitories In Novokoltsovsky
On January 25, the Day of the Russian Student, the opening ceremony of two dormitories of the International University Sports Festival Village took place in Ekaterinburg. The event was attended by Evgeny Kuyvashev, the Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region, Mikhail Khodorovsky, the General Director of the Sinara Group, and Dmitry Bugrov, the First Vice-Rector of the Ural Federal University.
The total area of each dormitory complex is 41,837 square meters. Each dormitory will have 836 residential units (including 34 for people with limited mobility), 23 classrooms, 33 laundry rooms, and 38 recreational areas. Near the buildings, there will be a central square in the form of an amphitheater, as well as sports fields.
In August, during the International University Sports Festival, athletes and guests will be accommodated in dormitories. More than 8.5 thousand students of the Ural Federal University will live in the dormitories after the competition.
“Students spend a significant part of their student life in the dormitories, so it is important that they have the most comfortable place to live, study and relax. The new dormitory facilities meet this need. Specially equipped rooms for students with limited mobility allow us to keep the course of inclusive education,” emphasized Dmitry Bugrov.
During the opening, representatives of the university’s student community test-drove the new space, noting its convenience and functionality.
The general contractor for building the facilities is Sinara Development.
