Ural Federal University: Digital Interaction Will Strengthen Ties between Russia and Belarus
Ural Federal University is interested in developing and implementing a model of digital interaction with Belarusian universities. The use of modern technologies to increase educational and scientific cooperation will allow to mutually enrich and reveal the potential of the universities of the two countries. This initiative was introduced by Victor Koksharov, Rector of Ural Federal University, at the IV Forum of the Association of Russian and Belarusian Universities in Grodno.
“The digital model will include unified software, technical and legal unification of information systems used in Russia and Belarus is expected. A qualitative audit of the capabilities of universities will be of great importance. In addition, it is important to maximize the use of academic mobility of students and employees in the online format, and for free access to online materials it is expected to use a common repository,” said Victor Koksharov.
Another key element of digital interaction is the online platform of the Project Exchange of Russia and Belarus, which includes a database of project requests from companies and a database of project proposals from universities. The Project Exchange will also provide interaction of different project teams.
As a reminder, since 2019, UrFU has been implementing a digital transformation program. A milestone event was the university’s victory in the competition of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation for the implementation of the digital university model and the creation of an international scientific and methodological center for the promotion of best practices of training in mathematics, computer science and technology.
