Ural Federal University Lyceum to Train Personnel for Nuclear Industry
The development of a network of specialized training and research centers (RECs) and their cooperation with Rosatom was discussed at the meeting “Development of the system of continuous training of highly qualified scientific and engineering personnel” at SPbU. The event brought together representatives of the state corporation, government authorities, universities, and RECs.
Alexander Sergeev, Scientific Director of the National Center for Physics and Mathematics, and Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, emphasized the importance of developing a system of continuous training for Russia to achieve technological leadership with Rosatom being a responsible employer.
“We need to create advanced technologies and train personnel for these tasks continuously: from RECs to industrial employers, Rosatom, and the National Center for Physics and Mathematics. Our technological parity in 20-30 years depends on our decisions today, especially in terms of personnel training. We must immerse schoolchildren in the system of corporate values of our technological leader, Rosatom,” emphasized Alexander Sergeev.
In turn, Larisa Rozhkova, Director of the UrFU Specialized REC, noted that the university’s lyceum positions itself as a multi-disciplinary school for training innovative personnel. Representatives of, among other things, humanities, math and information profiles will be able to qualitatively supplement Rosatom’s infrastructure.
“Students and alumni of UrFU lyceum are people who are distinguished by a certain scientific and cultural code, in which the value of knowledge, intellectual diligence, self-development, and creativity are the basis of education. These values are close to the corporate culture of such a bright leader as Rosatom. Therefore, we are grateful and open to such cooperation,” Larisa Rozhkova emphasized
