Ural Federal University: New Programs to Connect the University to Egypt
The visit of a university delegation, headed by Victor Koksharov, the Rector of UrFU, to Cairo has resulted in the possibility of launching network programs, short-term training and exchanges in engineering, biological technology, and management.
“Our countries are involved in the implementation of major projects, for example, in the field of energy. I am confident that Russia’s leading universities, such as ours, are capable of offering solutions in the humanitarian and technological spheres that would meet the aspirations of our nations to make further progress. Obviously, the key areas for us in Egypt will be the Bachelor’s programs in mechatronics and pharmacy and the Master’s programs in artificial intelligence, economics and business,” noted Koksharov.
The main event of the visit was the award ceremony for the first 58 attendees of the Ural Center established in the Cairo one year ago. The ceremony took place at the Russian House in Cairo, a representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo.
Before the ceremony Victor Koksharov had discussions with Georgy Borisenko, the Russian Ambassador to Egypt, and Marat Gatin, the Head of the local representation office of Rossotrudnichestvo.
The Ural Center offers less stringent admission rules compared to local universities, home-based world-class education, the opportunity to study in English, affordable costs, and no extra tuition fees to graduates of Egyptian schools. The center intends to increase the number of graduates each year.
