A delegation of the UrFU Ural Institute of Humanities visited State University of Grodno named after Yanka Kupala (Republic of Belarus). Representatives of the university took part in the international scientific conference “A Paradigm Shift in Historical Science: New Challenges, Theoretical Insights, and Research Practices”.

“The program of the conference was divided into seven sections: “Paradigms of the study of the past: actualization and re-actualization”; “Polemics on the issue of moral and ethical values in Russia and Great Britain in the era of change (1650-1750)”; “History, theory and methods of source studies”; “Historical past in interdisciplinary and cross-cultural perspective”; “History and memory: theoretical foundations and research practices”; “Representation of the past in historical policy and education”; “Historiography and its history in a situation of changing paradigms”. The result of the researchers’ work will be a collective monograph and a series of articles,” says Veronika Vysokova, Full Professor of the UrFU Department of Modern and Contemporary History.

A delegation of historians, regionalists and philologists from the Ural Federal University organized a separate section entitled “The Polemics of Moral and Ethical Values in Russia and Great Britain in the Age of Change (1650-1750)”. The section was moderated by Veronika Vysokova and Gennady Vasyuk, Associate Professor, Department of General and Slavic History, Faculty of History, Communication and Tourism at the State University of Grodno.
