Ural Federal University: The University Project Took Second Place at the All-Russian HSE FEST

On November 11, the finals of the third All-Russian Festival of University Technology Projects HSE FEST took place on the platform of the St. Petersburg International Innovation Forum. Students of Ural Federal University presented a project to automate the response of the surveillance system depending on presets.

This year 211 higher education institutions of Russia and the world participated – a total of 567 teams. The development of “Sirin” by Ural Federal University students took the second place and the project will receive support from businessmen and large corporations of the country. For three months, the authors of the idea worked with mentors (representatives of the country’s business industry) and improved the project.

“This year’s HSE FEST was the largest in terms of scale and attracted a lot of interest from the participants. What is important, the vast majority of the authors of the projects, who sent in their applications, are focused not only on what is interesting to them, but also on what they receive as a result of market research. Most of the projects are ready for full-fledged functioning in the Russian business environment, which means that they have heard and worked off the market demands,” said Dmitry Zemtsov, Vice-rector of the National Research University Higher School of Economics.

The jury also noted other projects that received special prizes from the organizers and partners of the festival.
