Ural Federal University: The University Will Continue to Participate in Educational Project with Egyptian Partners
On November 29, Ahmed Baheig, Executive Director of Media Arab for Media Production, visited the Ural Federal University. At a meeting with the university’s administration, the interim results of the Russian language center in Cairo, opened on November 7, were summed up.
“This is a unique initiative and the first project of its kind in the Arabic-speaking world. The project allows students from Egypt to immerse themselves in the world of Russian language and culture, communicate with native speakers and prepare for international exams and entrance to universities in Russia, including UrFU,” explains Ahmed Baheig.
There are currently 60 students at the center, 20 in each group. There are even high school students who are able to combine study of the language with their studies, since the opening of the center in Cairo made language immersion in the Russian-speaking environment more accessible for them.
“We managed to reach an agreement on the visit of UrFU representatives to Cairo in June 2022 to participate in the diploma awarding ceremony for the first graduates of the center, as well as on the possible opening of a branch of the center in Alexandria. We are happy to know that in Egypt they are so actively interested in the Russian language and culture of our country,” notes Victor Koksharov, Rector of the Ural Federal University.
Qualified professors have been selected to work with Egyptian students and sent to Cairo for an extended assignment until the end of 2021.
