Ural Federal University: University Athletes Became the Best at the All-Russian Spartakiad

From August 20 to 26 Kazan hosts wrestling competitions within the framework of the I All-Russian Sports Games of the Strongest Athletes of Russia. Ural Federal University students also take part in them.

Anastasiya Sidelnikova (trained by Igor Zadnepryanny) became the winner of the Games of the strongest women’s wrestling in the weight category up to 59 kg. Maria Tyumerekova won bronze in the same weight category.

Amayak Osipov, Master’s student (trained by Sergey Novakovsky) won the competition in Greco-Roman wrestling in the weight category up to 55 kg. Amayak Osipov is an athlete who also competes among the hearing impaired.

“I cannot say that I have any outstanding emotions, and I do not know yet what it has to do with. Maybe it is because of the fact that in Kazan the leaders of weight – Vitaly Kabaloev, European champion, and Pavel Belkin, winner of Poddubny Wrestling League, did not compete, I would very much like to fight with them as well. However I am glad to win,” noted the athlete in the interview to Wrestrus.ru.
