Ural Federal University: University Celebrated the Beginning of the Academic Year

The big celebration for first-year students Day First at Ural Federal University was held on the square in front of the main building. The rector and the special guests gave the start of the new academic year.

“You definitely made the right choice in your life – you were admitted to Ural Federal University. I congratulate you on this very sincerely and heartily. Of course, there are many years of study ahead: strenuous classes, work in the lab. However, student time is the most important thing in your life. Appreciate every day you spend at the university. The university will do everything for you to succeed in your life and profession,” said Victor Koksharov, Rector of UrFU.

Creative groups of Ural Federal University performed on the stage for the first-year students. Some students were also awarded with gifts: winners of the All-Russian School Olympics, first-year students with the highest score of the Unified State Exam, participants of the “Test Drive at Ural Federal University” event.

After the official part, freshmen were treated to a student opportunity fair. Students could learn about extracurricular life of the university, as well as take part in a prize draw by collecting 16 stickers on their itinerary sheets. Musical accompaniment to the fair was a performance by a cover band on the balcony of the main academic building.

It should be noted that this year over 11400 first-year students have enrolled at UrFU. Among the most demanded areas are state and municipal administration, linguistics, management, and applied computer science.
