Ural Federal University: University Educational Program Received Public Accreditation
The Ural Federal University Engineering School of Information Technologies, Telecommunications and Control Systems Bachelor’s degree program Software Engineering received public accreditation from the Alliance for Artificial Intelligence (AI) Association. The program is now included in the Register of accredited AI educational programs.
Improving the quality of training in the field of AI, their competitiveness in the labor markets, strengthening the connection of educational programs with the real economy and the business community – all these are the objectives of accreditation. The main evaluation criteria are: employers’ participation in the implementation of educational programs, teachers’ qualifications, availability of technical resources, and compliance of graduates’ competencies with employers’ requirements.
“This is our next step toward openness and transparency. Yes, all of our programs have state accreditation. But Engineering School of Information Technologies, Telecommunications and Control Systems is always little more than a standard. We decided not only to publicly tell industry and academic partners about our programs and courses, but also to be open to the associations that conduct their accreditation. I am very glad that our two programs passed the procedure quickly and clearly and meet the requirements,” said Ilya Obabkov, director of Engineering School of Information Technologies, Telecommunications and Control Systems and Head of the Software Engineering educational program.
The program Software Engineering gives the student profound practical skills in the development, testing and maintenance of software and programs in general. Expert evaluation of the Association Alliance in Artificial Intelligence will be the impetus for further development of the program and confirms its quality.
