Ural Federal University: University Students Became Bronze Medalists at World Championships
Aleksandr Silkin, a third-year student of the Institute of Fundamental Education of the UrFU (coach Dmitry Vorotnikov) took third place in the category up to 69 kg in the “Fighting” discipline at the world jiu-jitsu championship among men and women, juniors and juniors under 18 and under 21 years old.
The competition was held on November 3-4 in Abu Dhabi (UAE). Leadership in various disciplines and weight categories challenged the strongest athletes from 60 countries.
In turn, Ural Federal University first-year student Maria Tyumerekova (coach Igor Zadnepryaniy) won bronze in 50kg at the World Youth U23 Championship in wrestling, held on November 4-6 in Serbia. Earlier Maria became the champion of the First CIS Games.
