Ural Federal University’s Education Program Gets Students From 12 Nations
The Ural Federal University will host the “Summer University” on July 10-23. This is an international educational and communication space where 300 participants from 12 countries will acquire new knowledge and skills in key areas, develop and present their project ideas, and receive advisory support from the mentors of leading universities and industry experts. The project is initiated by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.
“At the moment more than 4,000 international students are studying at the Ural Federal University, and we see how such scientific and intercultural exchange helps both the university and the students. Such synergy increases the recognition of the university in the global education market and promotes the achievements of the local science. The Ural Federal University is very happy to become one of the sites of the “Summer University” and we hope that all the participants will make the most of the program,” says Viсtor Koksharov, Rector of the UrFU.
Eight industry-specific educational and project tracks in six areas await participants, including: “Digital Transformation and Social Design Lab”, “Machine Learning in the Electric Power Industry”, “ESG-Transformation and Digitalization of International Business”, etc.
“I am sure that the “Summer University” will become an excellent opportunity for the creation of social and cultural initiatives, groundbreaking innovative projects and, above all, joint ideas and new international cooperation, which will strengthen the development of the human resource potential of our countries,” emphasizes Dmitry Chernyshenko, the Deputy Prime Minister.
In addition, students will enjoy a cultural and entertainment program, including excursions around the city, the university and the Novokoltsovsky campus, a visit to the Innoprom exhibition, a tour of Sysert, the Great Race sports and a dance flash mob. In addition, industrial visits to the enterprises and partner companies are planned.
The program of the “Summer University” will begin with a ceremonial opening and plenary discussion with the participation of Valery Falkov, the Minister of Science and Higher Education, Viсtor Koksharov, the Rector of the Ural Federal University, Vyacheslav Yarin, the Minister of International and External Economic Relations of the Sverdlovsk Region, Yuri Bikuganov, the Minister of Education and Youth Policy of the Sverdlovsk Region, Andrey Keller, the Deputy Director of the Federal State Autonomous Scientific Institution “Socio-Center”.
At the same time the “Summer University” will be held at the Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University and the Siberian Federal University.
