Vice-President of India Venkaiah Naidu will chair LPU’s 9th Convocation on 22nd October
Jalandhar: Lovely Professional University is going to hold its 9th annual Convocation on 22nd October 2018 at LPU Campus. Hon’ble Vice-President of India Shri Muppavarapu Venkaiah Naidu will be the Chief Guest on this ceremonial day. Mr Vice-President will not only deliver the convocation address but also award gold medals to meritorious students for their outstanding performances. LPU is to award degrees/diplomas to 13,018 regular students; 223 part-time students; and, 23901 distance education students of the 2017 and 2018 batches.
Convocation at LPU has always been illustrious as either head of a nation or a leader of national/international importance addresses the convocation, which makes students imbibe pragmatic thoughts just before stepping into new phase of their life. Prior to this, many Presidents and Prime Ministers of different nations including India, Mauritius, Kingdom of Lesotho, Commonwealth of Dominica (North America), Afghanistan, and Nobel Peace Prize recipient His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, have already delivered grand convocational messages to many thousands of LPU students during different convocations.
Informing more, LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal says: “On the convocation day, an exceptional glimpse of international integrity would be seen when students from 70+ countries are also to receive their degrees/certificates along with their Indian classmates from all states of India. The preparation for the mammoth ceremony is in full swing. Assessing great presence of VVIPs, the complete State administration is involved in security arrangements at and around the campus. Both Punjab State and LPU administrations are working day and night to make the ceremony a grand success.”
Convocation ceremony being a very high security function, the university has already requested all students and their parents to keep on visiting LPU website ‘www.lpu.in’ for latest updates and guidelines. LPU alumni, students and their parents are to reach the University Campus before time. On this memorable occasion, parents of degree recipients are invited for witnessing their wards being blessed by Hon’ble Vice-President of India.
