The Cougar community participated in Giving Tuesday on Nov. 29 by making 198 donations, totaling $55,960, spread between 100 unique funding areas across the Washington State University system. Giving Tuesday is a global day of philanthropy that kicks off the year-end charitable giving season.

“We are grateful for the generosity and confidence in WSU’s collective future,” said Mike Connell, vice president for advancement and CEO of the WSU Foundation.“This support sustains student programs, scholarships, teaching, research, and outreach efforts across the entire WSU system.”

This year’s Giving Tuesday gifts supported a wide range of WSU areas that span scholarships, faculty research, programs, facilities, colleges, campuses, and more. The most popular area of support was the Crimson Opportunity Scholarship Fund, WSU’s most flexible systemwide scholarship fund, with 37 gifts on the day.
