Washington State University: WSU Everett Chancellor Paul Pitre recognized for contributions to STEM education
The Red-Tailed Hawks Flying Club (RTH) will honor WSU Everett Chancellor Paul Pitre with the Leroy Roberts Award for Propelling Education on Saturday, Dec. 3.
The Future Thrust Awards are designed to honor individuals for outstanding service to others, specifically those that propel future generations. Awardees demonstrate an affinity for youth programs, education, and career development. Chancellor Pitre is being recognized for his many contributions to STEM education in our region.
“As an educator, I don’t expect recognition, so to be honored in this way is very special,” said Pitre. “The Red-Tailed Hawks continue to inspire my commitment to STEM education in the North Puget Sound.”
The Future Thrust Award honorees are celebrated annually and presented by the Red-Tailed Hawks Flying Club, which is charted by Black Pilots of America, Inc. The RTH mission is to introduce underserved and underrepresented youth to the world of aviation, engage their minds in practical applications of STEM, ground them in history, and inspire them toward careers in aerospace.
