Winners of sports festival felicitated

 

ALIGARH  : The students of BUMS 2019 Batch, Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College, Aligarh Muslim University, organized a prize distribution ceremony to felicitate the winners of the Ajmaline Sports Festival held in November last, with several matches of Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Badminton, Carom, Chess and Tug of War.

Addressing the prize distribution ceremony as the chief guest, Dr. N. Zaheer Ahmed, Director General, CCRUM, New Delhi, spoke about the importance of Unani therapies like Hijama in sports. He said that participants in sports may win or lose a match but they must not lose faith in themselves, as a defeat only paves the way for bigger competitions, making the sportsmen stronger.

In her presidential remarks, Prof. Naima Khatoon, Principal, Women’s College, highlighted the importance of sports for healthy living and appreciated the participants for sparing time for such productive activities. She said that such events provide ample opportunity for vehemence laden with verve and vigor.

The guest of honour, AMU Registrar, Mr Mohammad Imran (IPS) urged the students to participate in sports activities as it is not only beneficial for health but also helps develop sportsman spirit in them.

Earlier, Prof. Badrudduja Khan, Principal, Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College, welcomed the guests while Prof. Ubaidullah Khan, Dean, Faculty of Unani Medicine delivered the opening address emphasizing the importance of extracurricular and sports activities in students’ life.

The chief guest and guests of honour gave away prizes and trophies to the winners and runner up teams.
