World Entrepreneurs’ Day at IIM Bodh Gaya

On the occasion of World Entrepreneurs’ Day, Envision Cell – the Entrepreneurship Cell of IIM Bodh Gaya organized ‘In-Campment,’ a campus start-up opportunity to explore the innovative edge of the students. The competition provided a platform for early-age start-ups and young entrepreneurs to enrich and prove their mettle in these uncertain times. The esteemed speakers, Ms. Geethu Sivakumar, Founder & CEO, Pace and Ricardo Coffee, and Mr. Kishan Tiwari, Founder & CEO, TSAW Drones, gave their insights on the importance of entrepreneurship and start-up culture.

Ms. Sivakumar spoke to the students about what drove her to pursue entrepreneurship right after college. She interacted with the audience about how she sustained through the first couple of crucial years of her nascent start-up. She also stressed on how skill-based start-ups are the need of the hour for the longevity of a business. Her address was followed by Mr. Kishan Tiwari, who made an enthusiastic audience realize the importance of taking calculated risks. He emphasized that growth is about innovation, and innovation is what entrepreneurship is about. He shared his thoughts on the importance of perseverance along with attitude and how good relationships are built by integrity.

Following the guest addresses, began the final round of the pitching competition, “In-Campment.” The finalists began pitching their ideas, each one better than the other. The competition was judged by Dr. Srividya Raghavan, Chairperson, Envision Cell, and Dr. Soumya Prakash Patra and Dr. Amresh Kumar, faculty members, IIM Bodh Gaya. Ideas spanned across various domains, from a shared cycle to food and event planning. Team Hacy’s was declared the winner, who proposed an on-campus canteen service.

The event concluded with Dr. Srividya Raghavan extending a heartfelt vote of thanks to the guests and participants as well as the teams for the efforts and hard work they put in.
