Youth acquainted about PMEGP at Bhalwal
Jammu: General Manager, District Industries Centre, Jammu today organised an Awareness camp here at Bhalwal to make the unemployed youth aware about Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme(PMEGP) and various other industrial schemes being implemented by the department for the promotion of industry in district Jammu.
The awareness camp was organized by Subah Mehta, General Manager DIC, Jammu under the guidance of Director Industries and Commerce, Jammu, Annoo Malhotra.
During the camp, prospective young entrepreneurs were made aware about the Prime Minister Employment Generation programme (PMEGP) scheme. The participants were told that the maximum cost of the project/unit admissible in manufacturing sector is Rs. 25 lakh and that of Service sector is Rs 10 lakh. They were further informed that the general category male candidates are eligible for 15% subsidy in urban area and 25% subsidy in rural area, while special category candidates (including SC/ ST/ OBC/ Minorities/Women, Ex-servicemen, Physically handicapped, Hill and Border areas, etc.) are eligible for 25% subsidy in urban areas and 35% subsidy in rural areas.
The youth were also made aware about various industrial incentives available to them under the Industrial Development Scheme -2017. They were informed about the procedure for availing incentives like Capital Investment Subsidy, Central Interest Subsidy and Central insurance Subsidy under IDS-2017. Awareness about State Freight Subsidy scheme was also given in the camp.
