Work in mission mode for tax collection: Chief Minister Chouhan
Bhopal : Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that all departments should work in mission mode for tax collection. Citizens should be made aware so that maximum tax should be collected and strict action should be taken to prevent tax evasion. State government and central government officials should work together to collect tax. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that despite the challenge of Corona, there has been a significant increase in collection of taxes including GST for which all the concerned departments deserve to be congratulated.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was reviewing the revenue receipts of various tax collecting departments in Mantralaya today. Finance, Commercial Taxes, Planning, Economic and Statistics Minister, Shri Jagdish Devda, Chief Secretary Shri Iqbal Singh Bains, Additional Chief Secretary Shri S.N. Mishra and Principal Secretary Shri Manoj Govil etc. were present.
Rs 4542 crores to be received from GST
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh leads in GST collection. Madhya Pradesh will get Rs 4542 crore as state’s share, out of which Rs 3866 crore has already been received. This is a major relief during the Corona crisis.
17 percent increase in VAT collection this month
In VAT collection, the collection in the month of January is 17 percent more than the previous year in the state. More collection is expected in the coming months.
Increase in excise income
In the month of January, excise income of the state has also registered an increase compared to the previous year. Last year, revenue of Rs 839 crores was generated in January and this year it is Rs 928 crores.
Hike in stamp and registration revenue due to reduction of 2 percent duty
In a review of stamp and registration revenue it was found that by reducing duty by 2 percent in the month of December, revenue has increased by 94 percent compared to last year. In the month of January, 19 percent growth has been registered.
25 to 30 percent hike in mineral income
Mineral income has increased by 25 to 30 percent since September 2020 so far. In the month of January, Rs 553 crore mineral revenue was generated, whereas in January last year, Rs 428 crore was generated.
Sale of vehicles declines
Transport revenue has come down in the month of January. A major reason for this is the decrease in sale of vehicles. Sale of only tractors has increased. The registration fee on tractors is Rs. 01 and road tax is zero.
Allocation of new mineral mines should be paced up
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan directed that the work of allocation of mineral mines in the state should be accelerated.
Need to visit Deputy Registrar Office for registration must not arise
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that for the convenience of citizens, the government is considering online registration facility, so that citizens will not have to go to the sub-registrar office for registration of land.
Make a one time settlement of outstanding GST
Chief Secretary Shri Bains said that one time settlement should be made for recovery of outstanding GST. Outstanding GST of Rs 146 crore 53 lakh has been recovered under the Saral Samadhan Yojana.
