Kick-off meeting on the international project SMARTI (Erasmus +)
A kick-off meeting was held at Kazan Federal University dedicated to the international SMARTI project, implemented with the financial support of the Erasmus + program of the European Union.
Within the walls of Kazan Federal University, representatives of the Russian project consortium met: Ogaryov Mordovia State University, Petrozavodsk State University, Kazan Federal University, Irkutsk National Research Technical University, Certification Association “Russian Register”. Project partners from Europe (Great Britain, Germany, Latvia, Portugal) and Armenia joined the meeting in an online format.
The PetrSU team was represented by the staff of the Department of International Projects and Programs: Galina Gennadievna Parikhina, head of the department, and Alexey Kupryakhin, manager of the EU Information Center of PetrSU.
On the first day of the events, representatives of PetrSU made a presentation about the university, the composition of the project team and the areas of responsibility of each of its participants.
After discussing work packages, organizational issues and documentation, for which the next two days were allotted, the parties determined the order of work on the project for the near future.
The area of responsibility of PetrSU, the Catholic University of Portugal and the Armenian National Agrarian University will include the first work package entitled “Preparation”, which will be the foundation for the further development of the project. The main task of the team at this stage will be the development and launch of a study on English as a teaching environment at universities in Russia and Armenia, analysis of the best practices of the European Union in this area. Within the framework of the working package, educational materials for self-mastering will also be developed, which will later form the basis of 9 modules of teaching English as a teaching environment, to be integrated into the system of training the teaching staff of universities in Russia and Armenia
