Cooperation with St. Petersburg State University of Economics

A panel discussion was held at the Institute of Foreign Languages ​​of PetrSU, during which topical problems in linguistics and methods of teaching foreign languages ​​were discussed.
The Department of German and French Languages ​​of the Institute of Foreign Languages ​​of PetrSU was invited as partners in scientific cooperation to this event, the teachers of the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology and Translation of the St. Petersburg State University of Economics (SPbSEU).

Colleagues of two universities in the North-West region of the Russian Federation exchanged views on current topics. So, Inna Vladimirovna Kreneva, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Director of the Institute of Foreign Languages ​​of PetrSU, analyzed the formation of distance learning a foreign language at PetrSU, having made a short excursion into recent history, when a year ago there was an urgent need for an urgent transition to distance learning in links with the pandemic. In turn, Natalia Vladimirovna Gul, deputy. Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, St. Petersburg State University of Economics, Associate Professor of the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology and Translation, Cand. ped. sciences outlined the situation related to distance learning of a foreign language at SPbSEU and noted its advantages and disadvantages.

The new direction of scientific research of the Department of German and French Languages ​​of PetrSU, which she is engaged in jointly with the Center for Artificial Intelligence of PetrSU, has not gone unnoticed either.

Irina Avramovna Kotyurova, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Head. Department of German and French languages ​​told about the Petrozavodsk Annotated Corpus of Texts (PACT), as well as its achievements and prospects. During the discussion, it became clear that the teachers of the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology and Translation are also engaged in this scientific problem and are ready to interact with representatives of PetrSU in this direction. In addition, representatives of St. Petersburg State University of Economics presented tools for new forms of education in the context of blended learning and shared their vision of this problem and practical best practices.

The panel discussion ended with a speech by Elena Nikolaevna Vorotilina, Ph.D., associate professor, deputy. head Department of German and French languages, which shared the experience of preparing and conducting master classes in the framework of the project “Correspondence Germany-Russia” “, since the project has been repeatedly tested by her and Art. teacher of the Department of Foreign Languages ​​of Humanities O.O. Nikolaeva in various educational organizations of Petrozavodsk as a tool for career guidance work and was highly appreciated by both schoolchildren and teachers.

At the end of the discussion, representatives of St. Petersburg State University and PetrSU discussed the forms of knowledge control used in modern conditions of distance learning, when there is a problem with identifying a student’s personality or difficulties in assessing the level of proficiency in spontaneous monologue speech or possession of vocabulary, and shared their findings.

As a result of the discussion, both sides expressed their wishes to create a scientific collaboration and continue joint scientific research in order to enrich and exchange scientific experience.
