AEM-Technologies Petrozavodskmash was visited by students of the 2nd 3rd year of the Institute of Forestry, Mining and Construction Sciences of PetrSU (direction “Technological machines and equipment”) within the framework of the action “Week without turnstiles”.
Associate professors A.A. Shubin, S.N. Persky, G.E. Holstein, N.G. Panov. The excursion began with a short story about the history of the plant and an acquaintance with the location of the buildings on the model in the museum of the plant.

The main organizer of the events is Associate Professor A.A. Shubin noted:

One of the main goals of any production excursion is to get acquainted with the production cycle in mechanical engineering. For an excursion to Petrozavodskmash, a visit to the pipeline valves production site (TPA), where a full cycle of valves production for nuclear power plants has been implemented, is ideal. Production begins with cutting of rolled steel and rough processing of blanks, and ends with assembly and testing of finished valves at the stand. Students see the execution of individual operations, can get acquainted with the work of machine operators.

As you know, the full life cycle of a product includes not only production and testing of products, but also design. Under the guidance of associate professors S.N. Persky and N.G. Panov’s students took part in a master class on the work of a designer.

To get acquainted with modern technologies and equipment for welding production, the students visited the production site for pipe collectors and assemblies. Very serious requirements are imposed on these products, therefore the production and control technology is a long and complicated process.

An obligatory point of excursions is a story about the production system of Rosatom (RPS) – a modern quality management system that has been implemented in workshops and departments for over 10 years. In various places of the enterprise, you can see color markings, posters, signs, instructions. These elements are the constituent parts of the RPS.
