Ural Federal University makes Kawasaki Software and Robots available for students

Ural Federal University signed a cooperation agreement with Kawasaki and Robowizard at the Innoprom international exhibition for training, research and development. The agreement will allow the university to use modern equipment in educational, production and research tasks and engage in promising projects in integrating robotic systems and production automation for the benefit of enterprises in the region.

“The software and robotic equipment will be useful in education and research, including practice-oriented training for students. Today, UrFU is developing project-based learning and individual educational trajectories, thanks to which students are involved in solving real production tasks. This way we form a set of competences in future specialists, which will allow them to feel confident in today’s rapidly changing labor market,” noted Victor Koksharov, rector of UrFU.

As part of the agreement, a training and engineering center and a classroom with two Kawasaki robotic cells are also being created at the university. On the basis of modern software and equipment the university will, among other things, conduct professional retraining and advanced training courses for specialists of industrial enterprises.

“Cooperation with Kawasaki allows the university to cooperate with such associations as, for example, the National Association of Robotics Market Participants and Jetro Association, which supports research and development. Within the framework of such interaction there is an opportunity to organize exchange of specialists and students in the field of robotics,” said Mikhail Bliznik, director of the Kawasaki-Ural center at UrFU.
