RWTH: Schüßler Prize for four RWTH students
This year Leonie Hanenberg, Celine Rudolph, Marie Elisabeth Vogelsang and Till Wellmann convinced the jury with their outstanding academic achievements and their social commitment. The event took place in the CT² – Center for Teaching and Training of the RWTH for better compliance with the corona protection measures and was organized by Dipl.-Ing. Norbert Schüßler, Managing Director of Schüßler-Plan GmbH, and Professor Dr.-Ing. habil. Markus Oeser, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, opened. Professor Beate Wiemann, General Manager of the Construction Industry Association of North Rhine-Westphalia eV, gave a lecture on the subject of “Building for the future – innovations and opportunities in the construction industry”. The study prize was awarded by Norbert Schüßler and Professor Dr.-Ing. Josef Hegger, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering.
The company founder – Dipl.-Ing. Willi Schüßler – the created Schüßler Prize has been awarded annually since 1995 in cooperation with the RWTH. The winners are selected in a multi-stage application process. The prize, endowed with 5,000 euros each, supports prospective civil and industrial engineers with their studies abroad and thus also promotes their personal development.
The 23-year-old Leonie Hanenberg and the 23-year-old Marie Elisabeth Vogelsang are studying civil engineering, specializing in structural engineering, and will spend their semesters abroad at the Universities of Marseille in France and Montréal in Canada. Celine Rudolph (21) and Till Wellmann (21) are studying industrial engineering, specializing in civil engineering. Rudolph is spending her semester abroad in Lausanne, France, and Wellmann is planning a stay at the University of Porto in Portugal.
