DDC Rajouri reviews achievements under Agriculture, allied sectors

 

RAJOURI : District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today chaired a meeting of the concerned officers to review the achievements under the agriculture and allied sectors in the district.

During the meeting, the DDC took a comprehensive review of progress made under farm sector centrally sponsored schemes being implemented for the welfare of the farmer community of the district.

The meeting was informed that about 3.185 quintals of fish production has been recorded in the financial year 2020-21.

While reviewing the progress under the Animal and Sheep Husbandry sector, the concerned officer apprised about the quantity of mutton, wool, eggs and poultry meat produced this year.

The DDC also took stock of the progress under the sericulture sector. It was apprised that the department has developed 16 nurseries over an area of 588 kanal in the district. It was also informed that silkworm rearing is an incentive based scheme. The DDC asked the concerned officer to make added efforts to increase the production of silk in the district.

Taking stock of progress under the apiculture sector, the concerned officer said that 200 quintals of honey is expected to be produced this year.

While reviewing the status of the progress on Kisan Credit card scheme, he directed the concerned to expedite the progress and ensure that all the beneficiaries are covered under KCC.

Regarding the Soil Health Card scheme, he advised the officers to motivate the farmers to get their soil tested as it helps them improve the health of different crops grown by them.

The DDC further asked the concerned departments to educate the farmers about the initiatives launched by the Government for development of agriculture and allied sectors.

He also emphasized upon the concerned officers to conduct field visits to get real time feedback from farmers.
