Ural Federal University: The University Lyceum Will Receives Federal Support
The Ural Federal University’s Specialized Education and Research Center will be fully financed from the federal budget. The lyceum of the university is among the four Russian educational and research centers identified by the Government of the Russian Federation. The state will cover all the costs of accommodation and meals for students whose parents are not always able to provide accommodation for their children in big cities.
“Traditionally, most of the non-resident applicants of the Ural Federal University Specialized Education and Research Center are residents of different areas of the Sverdlovsk Region. Due to the national program, the geography of our applicants has expanded over the last three years. With the appearance of guaranteed full state support, “young Lomonosovs” will be drawn to us even more,” said Larisa Rozhkova, Head of the Specialized Education and Research Center.
Today there are 750 students studying at the Ural Federal University’s Specialized Education and Research Center. The lyceum provides non-resident high school students with six meals a day and a dormitory for 200 people.
“We are waiting for the construction of the UrFU campus with an academic building and a new dormitory for the Specialized Education and Research Center. It is very important for us that 100% of the students are provided with a dormitory, because this not only expands the geography of our applicants, but also allows us to qualitatively enrich the educational program with tournament and Olympiad training, research activities, creative and sporting events,” Larisa Rozhkova added.
According to her, at the new site the university lyceum will be glad to accept talented schoolchildren from all corners of Russia.
