CAFC PetrSU in the “Open World” project

The Center for Adaptive Physical Education of PetrSU takes part in the implementation of the Open World project, which received support within the framework of the Effective Philanthropy charitable program of the Vladimir Potanin Charitable Foundation.
The organizer of the project is a long – term partner of the center – KROO “Let’s Help Our Children”. One of the directions of the project is the organization of adaptive physical education in a distance format.

From September to the present, students of the “Physical culture for persons with disabilities” training direction conduct individual lessons with children with cerebral palsy. For students, this is an invaluable experience: they practice the necessary skills for their future profession, including in a pandemic, learn to find approaches to special children, and acquire communication skills with parents. On the basis of the Center for Adaptive Physical Education, special sets of exercises were developed that can be performed at home, the necessary equipment was purchased – balls, gymnastic sticks, resistance bands, heart rate monitors.

Children quickly adapted to the distance learning format. The workouts offered to him are accepted with great pleasure. Students, in turn, try to positively influence not only the physical, but also the psychological health of the child in the classroom.

A questionnaire survey of parents showed that children like to engage in adaptive physical education, some children just wait for communication with students, many plan to continue their studies after the end of the project.

Thus, thanks to the project, it is possible to activate the motor activity of children with disabilities, diversify the circle of contacts and expand the possibilities of using the means of adaptive physical culture in different conditions,

– said the students.
