DC presides over weekly Block Diwas at CFC Chenani
Udhampur: Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Indu Kanwal Chib today visited block Chenani and listened to public issues at the weekly Block Diwas programme held at Community Facility Centre. The BDCs Chairman, District Officers of various departments and PRIs of concerned blocks also participated in the Block Diwas.
BDC Chairman, Block Chenani, Parkash Chand, BDC Chairman, Sewna Subash Chander, DDC member, Chenani Usha Devi, DDC member, Narsoo Subash Chander Sarpanches, Panches and public of adjoining panchayats projected scores of demands and problems being faced by the locals. They demanded establishment of small scale industry for Art & Craft, Organizing workshop regarding Poshan Abhiyan, inclusion of left out beneficiaries under Ayushman Bharat scheme, adequate staff in Government Schools, Filling of Vacant posts in Education and Health department, construction of passenger shed on NH, PHC at Narsoo, Opening of ration depot and bank branch, Paucity of drinking water, requirement of New Ambulance, repairing of Chenani power house road, Lack of staff in PHC at Sewna, opening of primary school, Low voltage Training of self help groups, Construction of chowk etc.
After listening to their demands and issues, the DC redressed many grievances on the spot by passing a slew of direction to the concerned officers.
Earlier, DC planted a chinar tree in the premises of CFC.
Responding to the demands, the DC assured the public that all their genuine issues would be addressed in a time bound manner. He directed the officers to work in coordination so that equitable development of all Panchayats is ensured.
The DC directed concerned officers to resolve the genuine demands of public on priority and submit the detailed report of pending issues so that same can be projected to higher authorities for consideration. The DC asked the officers to note down all the demands and redress the same on priority basis. The BMO Chenani was asked to provide supplement booster to women and children with the help of ICDS departments. The DC appealed all the PRIs and general public to register their name in Cowin app and stressed for improving vaccination. She further asked the PRIs and general public to register for Sehat scheme.
The DC said that the main objective of conducting Block Diwas is to resolve day to day public issues and the implementation of centrally sponsored schemes on the ground. She asked PRIs to work efficiently for implementation of these welfare schemes on the ground.
Similar hearings were also organized at different blocks of District Udhampur wherein a large number of PRIs and general public interacted with the designated officers and apprised them of the issues and demands of their respective areas.
